SEC.04 · THE PACK'S SAGA · EP.01
THE GREY SIGNAL
A graphic-novel night in nocturnal Lima: a corporate frequency is erasing the city's music. All seven ride out to defend the pack's archive.
Lima, 2:47 a.m. The drizzle rolls in from the Pacific. Tonight it carries something else: a frequency that erases songs from the air — and from memory.
Above the skyline, the Static Tower hums. Señor Estática wants a silent city: easier to sell, easier to rule. Only one archive resists him.
SEÑOR ESTÁTICA“Find the master tapes. Erase them. Erase them all.”
Behind a metal door with no address, the Den wakes up. Alonso pulls the pack's archive from under his bunk: every song they've ever recorded, warm to the touch, as if it knew.
ALONSO“If the city forgets its music, it forgets itself.”
The plan: cross the city before dawn and broadcast the whole archive from Radio Faro, the old lighthouse transmitter. Lobo fires up 'The Beast'. Julius calls shotgun by standing on it.
JULIUS“What's your plan, cat? Tell me what you're gonna do.”
The static drones sweep the avenues, vacuuming up every hummed melody. Pedro's violin carves a corridor of clean signal. Javier Honorio keeps the pulse on the van's roof — the drones can't lock onto a living rhythm.
PEDRO“One block of silence, coming up.”
Shortcut through the night market. Fiocha calms the vendors with a single sung phrase. Adrián lifts the van over a barricade. Nobody asks how.
ADRIÁN“Watch the tomatoes.”
The lighthouse on the edge of the Costa Verde. Its transmitter has been cold for thirty years. Lobo lays his hands on the circuits and talks to them softly.
LOBO“It still hums. It just needed someone to listen.”
Señor Estática arrives with the fog. He offers Alonso a deal: silence, and safety. Alonso raises The Roar.
ALONSO“You can't erase what a whole city sings back.”
The tapes roll. The pack's music floods every dead speaker in Lima — taxis, corner shops, balconies, the drones themselves. The Grey Signal dissolves into applause.
Dawn breaks over the Pacific. The archive is safe. The city remembers. Somewhere, a metal door closes — until the next broadcast.
LOBO“Tank's full. Moon's put away. Breakfast?”
